Aisha Jamila Hinds is an American actor who is most well known for her roles in TV series The Shield and True Blood. Her versatility has been demonstrated on TV in shows like 9-1-1 Detroit 1, 8-7 and Under the Dome since she made her debut acting in 2003. Anna's character on Assault on Precinct 13 was her first big breakthrough. However, it was her performance of feminist activist Fannie Louis Hamer, in the biopic All the Way, which brought her the recognition she deserved as an actress. Hind received praise for her performance as Harriet Tubman, in WGN America's historical drama Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. The show has been renewed for the third season by 20th Century Fox Television. Hind has completed filming in the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Both of these films challenged the fundamental form that was prevalent in Bollywood movies at the time, which pushed Bachchan to the forefront of Bollywood's New Bollywood. Bachchan was crowned the queen of Bollywood because of her heartbreaking portrayal in Paro, who is a jilted love in Devdas (2002) which is one of Bollywood's biggest-hitting films. Devdas also happened to be the first Bollywood film to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. After that, she was rewarded with praise for her performance of Chokher Bali (2003) a tense drama that was based on Rabindranath Tagore's book. That same year, she was one of the very first Indian actress to join the Cannes Film Festival jury. Bachchan appeared as Bride and Prejudice, a dance and musical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice by Gurinderchadha. The beauty and star power of Bachchan made her the perfect choice for the first English-language major film. Prior to releasing Provoked: A True Story 2006 in English, she went back to Bollywood for a role in Dhoom: 2 (2006 smash film).
